‘Preventing homelessness and reducing re-offending’
Wednesday 9 September 2015
Scottish Parliament Members’ Room
Shelter Scotland would like to invite you to attend the Preventing Homelessness and Reducing Re-offending event, which is kindly sponsored by Mary Fee MSP.
The event will be held in the Scottish Parliament Members’ Room on Wednesday 9 September from 6pm until 8pm. (Please arrive by 5.30pm, as getting through the Scottish Parliament security system can be extremely busy at this time).
Shelter Scotland are delighted to have the following speakers:
Mary Fee MSP, Shadow Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities and Convenor of the cross party group on Families Affected by Imprisonment.
Paul Wheelhouse MSP, Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs.
Shelter Scotland’s Director, Graeme Brown will highlight key findings and recommendations from our services which support prisoners in HMP Perth, Grampian and Inverness. Supporting prisoners to find and sustain suitable accommodation on their release can play a vital role in breaking the cycle of reoffending which has both social and economic benefits.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss this vital area of work with key stakeholders and politicians. We hope you will be able to join us – refreshments will be served.
