The SHRC is committed to becoming the locus for any campaigns that will be running to defend the HRA and we will keep everyone up to date with any events and activities planned.
PP?PF attended this event organised by the Scottish Human Rights Consortium. It was a bringing together of civic society, academics and other interested people to look at the direction Human Rights is taking within Scotland.

The speakers included Alex Neil MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners Rights. The Cabinet Secretary made special mention of the prisoner voting issue. Mr Neil stated that Governments should not shy away from defending Human Rights even if they do not necessarily agree with the issue, such as prisoner voting. He felt that part of the UK Governments proposals stems from their refusal to implement any part of this decision.
